Pure silk, chiffon embroidered and fluffy kitten embellished handkerchiefs and a fluffy powder puff. Pretty things from a bygone era. I love how these things have survived for so long and wonder what stories they each could tell. The powder puff and silk hankie came in a little square box with a good luck cat on the lid. I like to imagine that perhaps they were a gift to a bride. I know that I keep all kinds of 'treasures', not necessarily of any monetary value but as memory triggers to be taken out of a box or drawer every now and again and to smile or wipe away a sentimental tear. Foolish to some but it's what makes me happy.
